He called a little child

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.” –Matthew 18:2-5

A student at St. Mary in Buffalo Grove, Olivia has really enjoyed helping out with the food drives held at her school. When Olivia was asked what she wanted for her 8th birthday, she said that she would like her friends and relatives to donate food to us – instead of giving presents to her.

On a recent afternoon Olivia arrived with her mom, Jennifer, and a carload of food! Barely able to navigate the many bags and cases of food that filled the cart, with a smiling face and much determination she delivered her gifts to Sr. Margaret Mary.

Olivia is an inspiration to all of us. Experiencing the good works of this child, it gives us great hope for our future generations.

Happy birthday, Olivia! Thank you for your thoughtfulness. You truly have made a positive difference in the lives of our Residents. We believe that you are destined to do great things in our world. May God shower you with his blessings.
