Inspire Through Flowers
It was a normal Summer day. Some Residents were sitting outside enjoying the nice weather. The Sisters were just finishing their community time in the convent. The staff was working hard doing their jobs keeping our Home running smoothly. The wonderful smell of banana bread baking, filled the hallways and lobby outside the kitchen. Down the hall the one of housekeeping staff was polishing the floor, while another disinfected the handrail running lining the hallway. Lori at the reception desk, was fielding calls, recording donations and directing visitors. The medical office was busy as usual with the nursing staff making sure that each Resident was well-cared for.
Then the ‘Inspire through Flowers’ team arrived, bringing 100 bouquets of flowers and several flats of plants! We try to make everyday special at our Home for our Residents. Inspire Through Flowers made this day extra special for our staff.
Inspire Through Flowers is an all-volunteer service organization dedicated to bringing hope, encouragement and recognition to members of our community. They inspire joy, creativity, and connection by creating beautiful bouquets from donated flowers and delivering them to healthcare patients and staff in hospitals, nursing homes, and veteran facilities, as well as to other community groups such as essential workers, refugees, and women and children in shelters.
They believe a simple act of kindness can make a profound difference in the lives of others… and it certainly did for us! There were wide-eyes, big smiles and an extra spring in the step of our staff as the Inspire Through Flowers team handed out the bouquets.
Every week the Inspire Through Flowers team recut and refresh donated flowers (repurposes viable flowers that would otherwise be sent to landfills) and create beautiful bouquets – delivering them to our community.
