Holocaust Remembrance Day

  • January 27, 2012

Today is “Holocaust Remembrance Day.”  Residents, Little Sisters and staff came together today to pray for peace and forgiveness.  Among the 6 million Jews, and religious leaders killed during the Holocaust, two people who were killed in Auchwitz have become canonized saints: Edith Stein or Sister Teresia Benedicta of the Cross, and Father Maxiillian Kolbe. The millions, who suffered and were killed at the hands of such an evil person for no reason except for their religion, are resting in the arms of Jesus. We pray that our world would learn from evils of history.

“Father in heaven, we ask you to be with us as we pray for those martyred because of one man’s hatred toward Jews and Catholics. We pray that hatred will come to an end so that wars, terrorist attacks, bullying, revenge, and all forms of hatred will cease. We ask this through Christ our Lord.”
