“Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne.”
St. Joseph’s Home Residents rung in 2012 with friends, family, songs and dance. Our Lady Queen of Peace Home School Group served delicious hors d’oeuvres and desserts as the musical group Fever filled the auditorium with songs. The joyful celebration spurred dancing and conga lines that circled around and around. The favorite dance of the evening was the Limbo! The young and young at heart quickly discovered just how low they could go. Amazingly, everyone was able to clear the Limbo stick – thanks to the skillful holders who adeptly positioned it for each dancer!
This night was filled with double celebration as we also wished a very special 100th Happy Birthday to Resident Leona Kaltsas.
Father Time, (Vic DeLuca – Husband of Activity Director Cindy DeLuca), paid a visit to prepare everyone for the turn to the New Year. Midnight came a little early (8:15 pm), but that didn’t stop the excitement and anticipation of the New Year as the countdown ended. A shower of balloons and confetti dropped down onto the room. The evening culminated with a Champaign toast hoping for a 2012 filled with joy and peace.
Leona receives a special New Year’s and Birthday greeting.
Mary Jo and Ed Simms dance the night away…
Rose Saret and JoAnne Sergott enjoy the party.
