Apostle of the Impossible Tour
St. Theresa Church was a stop on the recent Apostle of the Impossible Tour in which the Arm of St. Jude, a popular relic that is usually housed in St. Peter’s Basilica and rarely leaves Italy, was on display for veneration. A busload of Residents and Sisters made the (short) pilgrimage to venerate the relic.
St. Jude is thought to be the nephew of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Jesus’ first cousin, and one of the 12 Apostles. He is known as the patron saint of lost causes and desperate situations.
This tour provided us and the hundreds of other pilgrims who came to visit the relic an opportunity, in the words of Fr. Carlos Martins – who was accompanying the relic on its US tour, “to experience intimacy with someone who dwells in Heaven and beholds God face-to-face. It allows devotees to receive his blessing and entrust him with their petitions.”
We are blessed to be a part of the vibrant St. Theresa Parish Family. God bless them for giving us the opportunity to nurture our faith by participating in the many Parish activities.
