When the weather is nice, we try our best to take advantage of being outside. What better way to enjoy the summer, then with a picnic on the patio! Sr. Paul thought so, and organized a brunch! Our wonderful dietary staff cooked up eggs, bacon, sausage, scones and muffins. The Franciscan postulants who are volunteering here each week, manned the waffle irons.
The sun shone bright in a cloudless sky, and a gentle breeze drifted through the patio. Golden oldies softly played in the background, as our Residents laughed with joy. The Sisters scurried from table to table, serving plates filled with mouthwatering food.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, Sr. Paul brought ice cream and all the toppings table to table, offering sundaes to anyone who had room left to eat!
There’s nothing like waffles, ice cream and good friends, to help us treasure these fleeting lazy days of summer.
