Keeping Us Clean and Safe
Our top-notch housekeeping staff has always worked diligently to keep our Home safe and clean, so much so that we frequently receive compliments on how nice our Home always looks and smells. During these times when infection control is crucial, our Housekeeping staff has made it an extra priority to deep-clean and sanitize anything and everything. With the shortage of appropriate cleaning supplies, this could have proven a challenge. However, good St. Joseph (who’s always looking out for us) brought an old friend to help us. Doug Jayes, who owns Jayes Cleaning Service in Elk Grove Village, arrived one day with a truckload of cleaning supplies and toilet paper. Doug told us that years ago, he did his Eagle Project at our Home. He couldn’t remember exactly what the project was, but he said that the Sisters and Residents made a lasting impression on him. Fast forward three decades or so. Doug said that he felt the need to come back and help. Doug has dropped off two truckloads of ‘impossible to find’ cleaning products and toilet paper.
Armed with sanitizer and disinfectant (with many thanks to Doug), our cleaning crew is working hard to keep us germ-free. They are working diligently and conscientiously. From door handles to railings and elevator buttons, anything that is frequently touched, gets wiped down a with disinfectant.
Together with our cleaning staff, we are working to keep everyone safe by regularly washing our hands and wiping down our own frequently used surfaces.
We are forever grateful to our ‘Eagle Scout’ Doug Jayes, and to Stan Sadar, Director of Housekeeping and his meticulous cleaning staff…and of course, our dear St. Joseph who is always at our side to help.
