Congratulations Fr. Damian!
On the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, we were blessed to celebrate with our chaplain, Fr. J. Damian Graziano, his 55th anniversary as a Priest.
Fr. Damian was called to the priesthood in 2nd grade. His first memory of wanting to become a priest was sitting in his catholic school classroom staring at a photo of a priest giving communion to a little boy, and he thought, “That’s what I want to do.” He attended high school seminary and was ordained at 27 in 1967. Father has since retired, but five years ago came out of retirement to continue his spiritual journey with us.
After Mass, we enjoyed the nice weather and had a cookout on our patio to celebrate our dear Prete (as he is known in his native Italian). It was a wonderful afternoon filled with joy and laughter.
In addition to administering the sacraments and offering Mass for us each day, Father is always ready to help whenever and wherever he can. We can often find him pouring coffee or serving the Residents who need assistance in the dining room.
Fr. Damian is a cherished member of our St. Joseph Home family. His kind and gentle demeanor comforts us, inspires us and brings us closer to Our Lord.
Thank you, Fr. Damian, for your vocation, for your support, and for your friendship.
Congratulations Fr. Damian!
