Congratulations, Sr. Maureen!
On April 24, 1963 Sr. Maureen of St. Margaret Mary promised God to observe faithfully the vows of Chastity, Poverty, Obedience and Hospitality in the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Sr. Maureen was able to celebrate with a Mass (celebrated by a dear friend of her family – Fr. Tom McCarthy) and dinner, with her family here in September. We were happy to celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving in honor of her 60th Jubilee on Tuesday, November 28.
During his homily, Fr. Damien thanked Sr. Maureen for her 60 years of unselfishly caring for the countless elderly, in the many Homes in which she served, across the country. With a chuckle, Father rhetorically asked Sister, which Home she liked the best. He answered for her, that it is this one because the Lord has called her here at this moment, and she obediently answered His call.
May God continue to bless you, Sr. Maureen. You are truly a treasured daughter of Jeanne Jugan.
Congratulations, Sr. Maureen!
