Sr. Pauline and Sr. Laurentia were invited to Plum Grove Junior High last week by the WHO Club. Ms. Kimberly Cichon, the 8th Grade Writing Teacher at Plum Grove Junior High School explains, “The Plum Grove Junior High School community service club, known as WHO, WeHelpOthers, is dedicated to helping others in need throughout our local and national communities. The club, which began in August of 2015, believes that one person can make a positive difference in the lives of others, but a whole group can make an even bigger difference.”
“This school year, we hope to help St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly by donating money and non-perishable goods and visiting residents, support our troops overseas by sending Halloween candy and heartfelt letters through “Operation Gratitude,” make blankets for sick children through “Project Linus,” donate proceeds from a 2-week bake sale to 5 different charities, and give others “A Shot at Life,” to mention a few of our current projects. Our amazing students and staff work together through the WHO club to let others know that we care ~ WHO cares ~ Plum Grove cares.”
Ms. Cichon said that the students and staff really enjoyed meeting Sr. Pauline and Sr. Laurentia. She said that there was a buzz of joyful energy as club members worked happily to load the van and as they stopped to speak with Sr. Pauline and Sr. Lorencia.
Our sincere thanks to the students and staff at Plum Grove Junior High. Through your kindness and generosity, you are making a positive difference! With your help, Thanksgiving will be extra special for our Residents this year.
