Thank you to our Wonderful Knights of Columbus!!!!
There are times in life when people reaching out to others can make an amazing difference. The current pandemic is one of those times. Throughout our country, the world and here in our Home, we are touched by the goodness of others.
In an effort to keep our Residents safe and prevent infection, we have adapted a recommended policy of serving bottled water. With over 200 meals served per day, we have been going through cases of water. We reached out to the Knights of Columbus for help and their goodness hit home for us in a literal “flood”. They responded with pallet upon pallet of bottled water. With only a few days’ notice, Grand Knight Bob Novak of Holy Ghost Council #4977 held a water bottle drive. We watched with gratitude as these good men collected over 12,000 bottles of water and over $11,500 for us.
We are also grateful to the Knights of Columbus Council #11981 who also sent donations to help us purchase water.
In our Church’s family tree there are many branches; we are intertwined and support each other. The Knights of Columbus are a strong branch of Charity. This is the heart of their mission. As Little Sisters of the Poor, our mission of charity to the aged poor depends heavily on the generosity of others. The Knights have always been a branch we could lean on. Their enthusiasm and generosity are very much appreciated. When we think of the Knights, we think of them as big brothers to us Little Sisters.
Thank You, Knights!
