Our Family Spirit
The Family Spirit in our Home is very apparent especially during meal time in our dining room. Friends gather together to share a meal and any news of the day. They each take the time to listen and share.
When one of our Residents, became ill and was hospitalized, our St. Joseph Home Family sprang into action. First, the Resident was put on our prayer list. Next, a schedule was created to care for the Resident’s dog, Mylie. Many took turns calling our Resident in the hospital with the reassurance that Mylie was being well cared for.
Our Chaplain visited the Resident in the hospital and administered the Sacrament of the Sick. Father then told the Resident how some of the ladies caring for Mylie, gave her a bath. Father said that Mylie looked like a ‘fur ball’. This brought a smile to our Resident’s face. Refreshed by the Sacrament and the peace of mind that Mylie was well-taken care of, the Resident peacefully rested.
