What’s more perfect than a summer evening at the ballpark? We’ll, maybe if the White Sox win… which is exactly what they did, against the Kansas City Royals. With many thanks to a benefactor, we joined the Residents and Little Sisters form St. Mary’s Home in Chicago and traveled to US Cellular Field for a beautiful night of baseball.
Although the Chicago crosstown rivalry (Northside Cubs fans vs. Southside White Sox fans) often makes for lively conversation in our Home, that night everyone was a Sox fan. Sox pitcher Chris Sale chalked up his ninth win of the season. Adam Dunn’s RBI single scored two runs and Gordon Beckman’s sacrifice fly drove in the final run giving the White Sox a 3-1 victory against the Royals.
While the game was very exciting, our best score was when the ballpark camera panned our wheelchair section and we were featured on the Jumbotron!
