One of our Residents, who asked to be named only as a “Legionnaire of Mary” shared her reflections on Our Lady.
My Soul rejoices in God my Savior!
This was Mary’s song as she walked exuberantly to visit her cousin Elizabeth through the desert road to Ein Karein. Her joy was the fruit of her “Fiat” to the announcement of the angel Gabriel to conceive the longed-for-Messiah. She did not mind the hardships and responsibilities that would ensue from it, for she was doing the will of God.
My Soul Magnify the Lord!
In her joy, she magnifies the greatness of the Lord, the holiness of His name, His mercy through all generations, His mighty arm to conquer the proud and His generosity to those in need.
My Children Magnify my Son!
Choosing to say “yes” to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, even if it entails sacrifice, will yield an abundance of joy in following the Will of her Son. Prayer, silence and recollection are the tools to discern His Will.
We ask through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, Patroness of the United States, that each human life – from conception to natural death be protected and treated with dignity, and that our most cherished of American freedoms;, the rights of religious liberty and freedom of conscience, forever be preserved. Mary is the instrument through whom all people come together in peace and love. We confide these intentions to her powerful intercession.
