“What Joy it is to be a Little Sister of the Poor.” St. Jeanne Jugan
It was a weekend of joy and festivities as we came together to celebrate Sr. Mary Francis du St. Esprit’s Golden Jubilee. Traveling from Minnesota, Sister’s family joined Little Sisters from St. Joseph’s Home and St. Mary’s Home in Chicago, Residents, and friends. On Friday afternoon, in commemoration of Sister’s Polish heritage, the world renowned Polania Ensemble entertained us with their beautiful authentic Polish costumes, songs and folk dancing.
Saturday morning, a Mass of Thanksgiving was celebrated by Fr. Robert Joseph Switanowski, OFM, Conv., with Bishop Andrew McDonald, Fr. George Auger, CSV, and Fr. Francis Kiley, OFM, Conv.
Following Mass, a humorous depiction of a Day in the Life of Sr. Mary Francis, was presented by the 2nd floor staff.

A delicious dinner prepared by Sr. Mary Timothy and her kitchen staff was enjoyed by all. Later in the afternoon, a touching presentation, comparing the similarities of St. Francis and St. Jeanne Jugan featuring Residents, Little Sisters and staff, closed out the celebration.
May God bless you Sr. Mary Francis, for your 50 years of love and dedication to the elderly as a Little Sister of the Poor!
Congratulations Sr. Mary Francis! A Golden Jubilee Celebration
