Winter Treats
We have witnessed the generosity of many throughout the years but, it particularly warms our heart when we witness the generosity of children. On a cold sunny February afternoon, 5th grader Zosia Kawczynska and her family stopped by to donate 35 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
Zosia is a member of the Junior Scouts of Troop 45475 at Pleasant Hill School in Palatine. As an added incentive to increase cookie sales (the profits help fund the activities of the Girl Scouts) prizes are offered at various sales levels. Zosia wasn’t interested in collecting prizes. She wanted to donate her cookies and decided our Home would be the perfect place.
Sr. Theresa, a novice who is staying with us during one of her rotations, met Zosia and her family. Sr. Theresa graciously accepted the cookies and thanked Zosia for her generosity.
What a wonderful treat for our Residents. Many sweet tooths will be smiling as they indulge in Zosia’s gift on this cold winter day!
