Welcome Back Rocco!
Many of our Residents had their own dogs and cats before they lived at our Home, but in our nursing home environment that is not an option. Before COVID, we had several therapy animals visit our Residents. Since COVID, we have been in various stages of limited visitation depending on the outbreak status and they have not been able to visit. With the infection rates down, we were delighted to welcome back our dear friend Rocco.
Rocco is 7-year-old Bernedoodle – mix of Bernese mountain dog and standard poodle. He started visiting the Residents at our Home when he was 4 years old. He has GCG (good canine citizenship) and advanced CGC (good canine citizenship) certifications. He started dog training as a 12-week-old puppy and did well. Once he completed his CGC and Advanced CGC he began therapy training.
Rocco has a larger than life personality and we love him!!! When you talk to Rocco he quirks his head as if he’s listening. He loves visiting everyone- Residents love petting Rocco and feeding his treats. It’s like he senses which Residents need a little more time with him.
We are so happy to welcome Rocco back!
