Cece Walczynski – Volunteer Spotlight
Meeting the needs of our Residents means going above and beyond to make their lives here enjoyable. One way we are able to do this is through our gracious volunteers spending generous amounts of their time here.
On this Volunteer Spotlight is Cece Walczynski, who has been a consistent volunteer here at St. Joseph’s Home for about 8 months. After graduating from the University of Illinois last May and moving back to the area, she decided to use her free time to visit with our Residents every Friday and paint their fingernails. Cece said, “I look forward to Friday because even if I’m feeling down that day, spending time with the Residents brings me so much joy.” Her sparkling personality never fails to put a smile on all our faces.
Last Friday, Cece had the honor of painting 101-year-old Gertrude Koslowski’s nails and did an absolutely beautiful job. Gertrude was feeling a little under the weather on that rainy morning, but Cece’s company and handiwork really brightened her day.
