Monday mornings always seem to get a bad reputation in the work world. However, at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly, Monday isn’t so bad. On Monday morning, May 2, the St. Edna’s Women’s Club visited our Residents and brought them goodies such as donuts and fruit. It was an enjoyable morning and Residents met many new people. St. Edna’s Women’s Club also fund-raises throughout the year and decides annually on a charity to benefit from their fund-raising efforts. This year St. Joseph’s Home was the recipient, and the Club presented Mother Maria Christine with a check. The Little Sisters were honored and appreciative.
When St. Edna’s contacted us, our Volunteer Coordinator shared with them our participation in the Blessing with Water Program and that we were looking for those who are able to crochet. One of the women from the club took up the challenge had been crocheting water filter socks. On Monday, she brought a bag of them with her! What a wonderful surprise!
The women from St. Edna’s stayed to worship with our Residents for Mass. They also enjoyed, unexpectedly, the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Exhibit.
We hope that our new friends will come to visit us throughout the year!
Thank you St. Edna’s Women’s Club!
