Our broken down bus wasn’t going to stop us! On July 15, we piled into two cars and our new handicap van and headed south to the Joliet Slammers baseball game. Our good friends from St. Mary Immaculate Parish in Plainfield, IL invited us to the game, asked the Sisters to sing the national anthem and arranged for us to share the 50/50 Game winnings along with Misericordia.
The tickets were waiting for all 16 of us when we arrived. After the long drive, we were pleasantly surprised to find that our friends had also arranged for food vouchers for each of us.
Everyone enjoyed a wonderful evening as we rooted the Slammers to a 16-3 win.
A big thank you to St. Mary Immaculate Parish, who provided us with a relaxing summer’s night treat at the ballpark!
