St. Joseph Home for the Holidays Wine Tasting
Fine wine, great food and good friends, what more could you ask for? A record crowd filled our auditorium for our annual St. Joseph’s Home for the Holidays Wine Tasting. With many thanks to Larry Kaplan of the Wine Cellar who sponsored the event and is donating a portion of the wine sales and Jerry Kohn who helped to organize, it was a huge success.
Our guests lined up for the opening of our Gift Shop Filled with Christmas treasures, before they began tasting the over 30 different wines from around the world.
The festive Christmas decorated auditorium, the Christmas music of Sr. Mary Gerard (violin) and Volunteer Coordinator, Cindy DeLuca (piano) and Mother Nature’s blast of cold, put us all in the holiday spirit.
Helping to warm our guests coming in from the cold was Mother Margaret famous Ham & Bean Soup for our guests to enjoy. It was a very popular stop and many guests purchased her mason jar soup mix that was for sale on their way out.
We are also grateful to our local restaurants and food vendors who donated delicious hors d’ oeuvres and desserts: Big Chef Restaurant, Chitown Fish & Seafood, Gianni’s Café, Heng Wing Restaurant, Pizza Bella, Rose Packing, Simply Delicious Catering and Sweet ‘C’s Bakery.
The evening flew by. We enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting new friends. Reluctantly we bid our friends adieu, wishing them a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas Season.
