Sewing Angels

Sewing Angels

With Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) still in short supply and increasing in cost, we reached out to our team of dedicated volunteers for help. Our Medical Department requested the need for 50+ reusable cloth Isolation Gowns. Under the Illinois Department of Public Health guidelines, we were able to find a pattern for cloth gowns. We also found enough old sheets that we were able to recycle and use for material, so we didn’t have to wait for fabric stores to reopen. The response of willing people from our pool of volunteers and their friends, parishioners of St. Theresa Parish, and even a volunteer from our Home in Chicago – was overwhelming!! All the gowns are perfectly made and we are already using them!

We are so grateful for our volunteer “Sewing Angels!” A shout out to Kathy M, Alice S, Claire B, Sue F, Laura K, Kathy K, Jacquie C, Mary Jean C, Carol S, Janice O, and Francine C.
