In the presence of the Blessed Trinity and of Mary Immaculate…
On December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, years ago St. Jeanne Jugan and her early companions first took a vow of chastity and obedience when they were beginning the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor. This tradition continues today as Little Sisters all around the world renew their vows at Mass on this special feast of our Lady.
In our Home the Little Sisters, whose total service represented over 830 years caring for the elderly, held candles and renewed their vows “In the presence of the Blessed Trinity and of Mary Immaculate, I renew with all my heart my profession of the evangelical counsels, and promised God to observe faithfully the vows of Chastity, Poverty, Obedience and Hospitality which they had made forever in the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor.’
May God bless all of the Little Sisters, and all of the Residents that are in our care. We pray that many more young women will hear God’s call so that we can continue our work of caring for the needy elderly.
