Remembering Sr. Patricia
The Lord unexpectantly called our dear Sr. Patricia Claire home on July 24, 2020. She was born in Dayton, Ohio and entered the Congregation in 1984. After professing her Vows in 1986 and for the next 34 years, she devoted herself to a life of service for the needy elderly in many of our Homes, including: Indiana, Maryland, Missouri and here in Palatine where she had served for the past 7 years.
The Mass of Christian burial was held outside allowing some of our Residents to participate within the requirements of social distancing. Like St. Jeanne Jugan, Sr. Patricia loved nature and found the presence of God all around her. You could often see her outside praying. Sensing her goodness, the squirrels, rabbits, ducks, geese and visiting therapy dogs would frequently stop to greet her. Sister always seemed to have a special treat ready for them.
Dearest Sr. Patricia, “May the choirs of angels come to greet you. May they speed you to paradise. May the Lord enfold you in his mercy. May you find eternal life.”
