Merry Christmas!
Christmas is joyfully celebrated at our Home! We are always amazed when an elder says “this is the best Christmas I have ever had” but for some, we know that it’s true. Thanks to so many of our friends, we are able to bring much joy and love to our Residents.
The celebrations started the weekend before Christmas, from a lively party Friday complete with cookies, Christmas carols, and Santa, to an elegant brunch Sunday filled with smiles and a delicious three-course meal.
After a few singalongs of “Frosty the Snowman” and other fun Christmas songs, Santa began distributing gifts, generously provided by The Holy Family Giving Tree and Palatine Township. Some gifts were so large; we needed help carrying them!
Sunday, thanks to the culinary skills of Chef Andy Webber and our kitchen staff, we had a special holiday brunch with the theme a “Cup of Christmas Tea”.
Our many thanks to St. Anne’s Hope Ministries and Mr. Tony Stallone for their generous donations that enabled us to provide this holiday meal. The exquisite brunch featured fresh berries, stollen, smoked salmon, rum raisin French Toast, quiche Lorraine, hand-carved ham and beef, topped with a peppermint cheesecake for dessert.
Served by our amazing volunteers, we felt as if we were at the fanciest of restaurants. Sipping on Bloody Mary’s, mimosas, hot chocolate and cappuccinos, we listened to the relaxing sounds of Tony Kawalkowski’s beautiful violin-playing. Everyone had a great time, including the wonderful volunteers and staff that made this glorious event come together.
While we await the birth of Our Lord this Christmas, we offer you the finest gift we can give, our grateful prayers. May the Lord Jesus, whose gentle coming among us brought light and grace to people of all ages, fill you and your loved ones with these gifts.
Merry Christmas!
