Merry Christmas
Christmas is joyfully celebrated at our Home. We are always amazed when an elder says “this is the best Christmas I have ever had” but for some, it’s true. The gifts aren’t elaborate, but they are given with love. Our holiday to-do list is rather simple: find ways to make Christmas special for our elderly Residents, and ways to express our sincere gratitude to all of our benefactors.

On Friday, December 21, Santa stopped by with a sleigh filled with gifts for all of the Residents!! The Elves (homeschoolers from Our Lady Queen of Peace) helped Santa deliver the wonderful gifts donated by Holy Family Catholic Community and the Township of Palatine.

Our gingerbread house artists!

A special Christmas dinner party was held on December 20.

Thanks to a family who donated money to us instead of exchanging gifts, we were able to purchase new soft warm nightgowns for our Residents.
To our Residents, who daily remind us of the slow, quiet steps that God uses to enter our lives, we offer the gifts of love, peace and security.
Christmas is a time to remember that everyone is someone for whom the Son of God entered the world. On the first Christmas, Heaven came close to humankind. We celebrate that event. Heaven is close to us all; it is especially close to the elderly.
To our benefactors, we owe a great debt of gratitude. Thank you for helping us to keep the message of Christmas alive. Thank you for supporting our work, which enables us to gently care for the elderly. We offer you the finest gift we can give, our prayers. May the Lord Jesus, whose gentle coming among us brought light and grace to people of all ages, fill you and your loved ones with these gifts this Christmas Season.
