Go, Cubs, Go!
Go, Cubs, Go!
Hey, Chicago, what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today!
This song by Steve Goodman has become the anthem for Chicago Cubs fans. With the Cubbies set to begin the World Series tonight, you can hear people humming this throughout our Home.
Lifelong Cub fans wearing the team colors royal blue and red, often vacillate between giddy laughter and joyful tears. 100-year-old Beverly proclaimed, “I’ve been waiting all my life for this!” Charlotte proudly chimed in reciting the Cubs’ impressive statistics.
WBBM, our local CBS affiliate, heard about 90-year-old Marie’s talent of knitting Cub’s sweaters. They came to interview her for their 10 p.m. news cast on Tuesday, October 18. When they arrived, they were greeted by a lobby filled with our Cub’s fans.
So far, our prayers and well-wishes have helped (or at least that’s what we believe) propel the Cubs to the National League Championships. We believe that 108 years is long enough to wait for a World Series Championship, and this is the year that the Cubs will go all the way!!!!!
They got the power
They got the speed
To be the best in the National League
Well this is the year
And the Cubs are real
So come on down to Wrigley Field
(We’re singing, now)
Go, Cubs, Go!
Go, Cubs Go!
Hey, Chicago, what do you say?
The Cubs are gonna win today
“Hey Chicago What do ya say…”
