Happy Valentine’s Day!
A favorite Valentine’s Day tradition is the Hersey High School Love Bus. The Love Bus, which is actually two or three busloads of students and faculty, has been spreading the love and dazzling audiences in our community for 49 years.
The students arrived in costume with dozens of carnations. The students spent time visiting with many Residents and graciously presented each of our Residents with a Valentine Day flower. In the auditorium, the talented students put on a variety show (worthy of Broadway), with singing, cheerleading, and dancing. Many students also visited and serenaded some Residents in their rooms.
After the show, the Hersey High School students wished everyone a Happy St. Valentine’s Day and said good-bye (until next Valentine’s Day). Mark Gunther, the faculty advisor of the program, said that this long standing tradition of visiting and performing is one of the highlights of the year for the Hersey students. It certainly was a delight for us as well!
