Grateful for Volunteers
St. Jeanne Jugan counted on benefactors and volunteers to assist her in caring for the elderly. Today also, we depend on volunteers who work with us side by side to help make our Home a place of hope, where all are treated with dignity and respect.
While we try to express our appreciation to our volunteers every day, we wanted to take an opportunity to formally recognize their hard work, dedication, and commitment. On Thursday, May 18, we offered a special Mass in our Chapel in thanksgiving for our volunteers.
After Communion Fr. Tom asked all of the volunteers who were present to stand in front of the altar. We all prayed for them and he gave them a blessing.
Following Mass, a luncheon was held in our auditorium where gifts of appreciation were presented to each volunteer.
Our Little Sisters and staff do all that we can for the Residents in our Home, but a visit from you would truly brighten their day. Whether you volunteer to assist our Residents at meal times, or stroll with one of them in our garden while listening to their life experiences, your presence touches the elderly who live here. In turn, by volunteering you will experience happiness yourself as you offer the Residents companionship and joy!
