Sr. Gemma and Sr. Agnes renewed their vows and celebrated their 60th Anniversary as Little Sisters of the Poor on Monday, May 7. Over their combined 120 years, they have touched many hearts, held many hands and comforted so so many elderly. We were honored to be able to acknowledge their love and dedication at a Mass celebrated by Fr. Tom Botheroyd and Fr. Damien Graziano.
In the presence of the Blessed Trinity and of Mary Immaculate, we, Sr. Gemma de la Visitation, and Sr. Agnes Bernard du Bon Pasteur, renew with all our hearts our profession of the evangelical counsels, which we made for the first time on December 10, 1958 and June 17, 1958, and promise God to observe faithfully the vows of Chastity, Poverty, Obedience and Hospitality, which we have made forever in the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor.
During dinner, in celebration of this milestone, Sr. Gemma and Sr. Agnes handed out chocolate roses to everyone.
Congratulations and God Bless Sr. Gemma and Sr. Agnes on your 60th Anniversary as Little Sisters of the Poor! And as Fr. Damien said, “we look forward to celebrating your next 60 years!”
