Day of Prayer and Celebration
Fr. Jeremy Thomas, pastor of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Schaumburg came to spend a day of Lenten Prayer with us on Monday, February 27. Father, celebrated Mass, heard confessions and gave a talk to Residents and staff. His prayerful demeanor and thoughtful insights, along with his sense of humor touched our hearts. His use of his own personal stories along with suggestions for a more impactful Lenten experience gave us much to ponder.
Monday was also our own Fr. Tom Rzepiela’s birthday. We couldn’t let the day go by without a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ and cake and ice cream. We’re sure the Lord wouldn’t mind – even though it is Lent, that we took time to celebrate Fr. Tom, and the many gifts he brings to us.
