Congratulations Sr. Mary Timothy, on 60 Years as a Little Sister of the Poor
Sr. Mary Timothy is beloved here. Having worked in our kitchen for over 25 years, she is known by countless Residents, staff and friends. Not many people can resist Sr. Mary Timothy’s lively Irish brogue, beautiful smile and kind heart. We have been blessed with Sister’s wisdom and examples of deep faith.
On June 24, we joyfully gathered in the chapel to celebrate her 60 years as a Little Sister of the Poor. Mother Mercy knelt next to Sr. Mary Timothy as she renewed her vows. “In the presence of the Blessed Trinity and of Mary Immaculate, I Sr. Mary Timothy de St. Jean Baptise, renew with all my heart my profession of the evangelical counsels, which I made for the first time on June 25, 1961, and I promise God to observe faithfully the vows of Chastity, Poverty Obedience and Hospitality, which I have made forever in the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor.”
After Mass, many stopped to congratulate and thank Sr. Mary Timothy for her inspiring dedication and selfless service to the elderly. There was even a surprise video call from Mother Maria Christine, Mother Margaret Charles and Sr. Diane, who relayed their congratulations from California.
The celebration continued as Sr. Mary Timothy, handed out special chocolate bars with a miraculous medal in a bag decorated with a Celtic cross attached to Residents and staff.
Sr. Mary Timothy is our designated prayer warrior. She spends most of her time in the Chapel or visiting with Residents. Many people come to her to ask for prayers. With a deep devotion to St. Joseph and a direct line to him, she witnesses many miracles at our Home.
Congratulations Sr. Mary Timothy
