Congratulations Sr. Josephine
In honor of her native Kenya, the celebration of the 25th Jubilee of Sr. Josephine Mary Elisabeth revolved around an African theme. Our Lady of Africa watched over, as the day-long celebration proceeded.
Sr. Josephine renewed her vows during a Mass of Thanksgiving in honor of this blessed occasion.
“In the presence of the Blessed Trinity and of Mary Immaculate, I renew with all my heart my profession of the Evangelical Counsels, and promise God to observe faithfully the vows of Chastity, Poverty, Obedience and Hospitality which I have made forever in the Congregation of the Little Sisters of the Poor.”
After Mass, Sr. Josephine passed out gifts to each Resident. Later in the afternoon, the Lion King showed up with many of his fellow African animal friends. Our Resident choir serenaded Sr. Josephine and all present with a rousing rendition of ‘Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head’. Complete with raincoats and umbrellas.
To add to the ambience, drummer Tom Mullens brought his bongo drums and played for us. Later Sr. Josephine joined him.
Congratulations Sr. Josephine on your 25 years of humble service to the elderly. May God continue to shower you with His love!
