Christmas in July
Last January when record cold hit, we didn’t let it get us down, we had a ‘Polar Vortex’ party. With heat indexes reaching over 100 in mid-July, our good friends at St. Isaac Jogues Parish decided that a little heat shouldn’t wilt our spirits either. On July 20, their Council of Catholic Women sponsored at ‘Christmas in July’ party. With cooler thoughts amidst the record-breaking heat, they arrived with vanloads of gifts, a Christmas Carol singing choir, delicious Christmas cookies and enough good cheer to lift our hearts.
After a beautiful concert of Christmas Carols to put us in the mood, CCW President, Marilyn Bloom, Santa and a team of volunteers began distributing gifts. Santa’s little helpers brought so many smiles (as one Resident commented, ‘being with them was even better than receiving a gift’).
We are beyond grateful to the parishioners of St. Isaac Jogues, who generously showered us with their love.
