Storms were predicted to hit just as our Candlelight Rosary was scheduled to begin. We prayed to St. Joseph to keep the rain away so that we could pay tribute to Our Lady. He took good care of us and kept the skies dry.
The cloudy day kept the summer heat at bay and by 7:45 p.m. it was very comfortable, as about 50 Residents, Sisters and friends gathered around our statue of Our Lady of Fatima. In honor of Our Lady on her Feast of the Assumption, we prayed the rosary singing her hymns between each decade.
Gently framing her statue in a soft glow, the bushes on either side were filled with sparkling blue lights. We each had a candle that we raised in joy as we thanked Mary for her loving protection.
After the rosary we whispered a quiet prayer of thanks to St. Joseph for his weather control and we retired to our rooms dry, and filled with Mary’s Love.
