One of our favorite traditions is when the students at St. Theresa School in Palatine visit us during Catholic Schools Week. Representing the school, the sixth grade class brought the many bags of food that the students at the school had collected for us. Arriving in vans filled with food, their generosity was rewarded, as the Lord arranged for an unusually warm January day as they unloaded. We were once again overwhelmed by their generosity, but there was more to come!
The students entertained us with a beautiful morning, showcasing their talents and treasures. We watched card tricks and played Pictionary and Charades. There were exciting stories of St. Theresa basketball championships and awesome days filled with famous athletes’ autographs. Dancers twirled and dazzled our eyes. The sounds of clarinets and piano played sweetly for our ears. We were brought to tears as one student sang a beautiful rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Mesérables.
After our show, the students joined us for Mass in the Chapel. Together we prayed in thanksgiving for the beautiful gift of life, both young and old.
Thank you St. Theresa Students!!!
