Heaven opened up its gates and the saints briefly paid us a visit, or so it seemed. On the Feast of All Saints, more than 60 saints (in the making) from Our Lady Queen of Peace Homeschooling Group, spent the day with us.
Dressed as their favorite saint, the children began their visit by joining us for Mass. Our good friend Fr. Joji Thanugundla from St. James Parish was the celebrant. During the homily, he asked our visiting saints to tell us about their lives. Not only were the children’s costumes stunning and very detailed, it was apparent that they had worked hard to learn about the lives of their saint. Sitting in the pews listening to the enthusiasm and faithfulness of these youngsters, it was hard not to be touched.
The excitement continued as the children’s laughter and sweet voices filled the dining room. Visiting us table to table, the children could barely contain themselves, as they told us more about their saints. We learned about the mighty Archangel Michael, St. John the Baptist, St. Rose, St. Kateri Tekakwitha and many more.
We believe St. Joseph’s Home is a very special place, but that day it became even more special as Heaven shared its splendor with us.
