Spring bloomed with pink and green decorations in the auditorium. The decorative teapots were removed from their display in the Activity Room and polished. A scavenger hunt around the Home for teacups and saucers commenced. Our dear friends from the Inverness Garden Club stopped in to make flower arrangements and the Palatine Women’s Club gathered together to make over 70 favors, for the tables.
St. Joseph’s Home geared up for its Annual Mother/Daughter Tea which took place the day before Mother’s Day, on Saturday May 12. The afternoon began with a reflection on motherhood and a prayer. Tony Kawalkowski, our strolling violinist, entertained our guests by playing requests, from Moon River, Edelweiss, to My Old Kentucky Home.
This year the Residents and their daughters were treated to special flavored teas, mini-cheesecakes, and mini-cream puffs. Association Jeanne Jugan members and the Palatine Women’s Club graciously served the Residents and their guests. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon of tea, treats, and entertainment.
