On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in solidarity with millions of people around the country, Residents, Little Sisters, volunteers, employees
and their families showed pro-life support, as we at St. Joseph’ s Home, held our first March For Life. Our march was held inside throughout
the three floors of our building. The enthusiastic participants, wearing jubilant smiles, marched through the halls holding up pro-life signs and
blue and pink balloons. A strong unified voice could be heard throughout the hallways and into our hearts. Human life matters, regardless of
the stage in life! Afterwards, the participants were treated to a March For Life party. The festivities echoed our commitment to protect life from
conception until natural death!
On Saturday, January 18, 2014, Mother Provincial Maria Christine led a St. Joseph Home contingent of Residents, employees and volunteers, joining over 700 other participants, braving the snowy weather for the second annual North West Families March for Life in Palatine. The eventful day began at St. Theresa’s Parish in Palatine. All were gathered to hear powerful pro-life testimonies, songs and prayer before heading out into the cold for a peaceful half mile march to the Palatine Towne Square. Undeterred by the heavy snow, Joe Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League, State Senator, Matt Murphy and State Representative, Tom Morrison spoke to us about the importance of standing up for life. All participants were welcomed back to St Theresa’s Parish after the march, to warm refreshments and fellowship provided by the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary.
