St. Joseph provided a beautiful day for our Sixth Annual Swing and a Prayer Golf Outing, on Monday, September 12, at Makray Golf Club in Barrington, IL.
The friendly competition started with “Putt against a Sister”. The Little Sisters showed their hidden talents as they put up a respectable challenge against the golfers. Before heading out on the course, a little lunch and camaraderie was enjoyed on the veranda overlooking the golf course.
Residents were also among the crowd who enjoyed the day. They arrived by the busload and watched from the second floor balcony, overlooking the course, they waved and shouted words (between shots of course) of encouragement.
As the Little Sisters rode around the course greeting the golfers, cries of joy, frustration, delight and Whoops filled the air from golfers.
In the end, however, a good time was had by all. Everyone left a winner whether, with a trophy, a raffle basket, 50/50 winnings, Bears tickets or just the satisfaction of knowing they helped our Residents.
Thanks to all that were in attendance and assisted with the event.
