“What Happiness it is to be a Little Sister of the Poor”
St. Jeanne Jugan
Sr. Vincent de la Providence celebrated her 70th Jubilee as a Little Sister of the Poor on Saturday, November 8th. Sister’s family traveled all the way from Philadelphia to share in this momentous occasion. Along with the Little Sisters of the Poor from St. Mary’s Home in Chicago, we joined together for a Mass of Thanksgiving offered by our dear friend, Fr. Matthew Jamesson of St. Theresa’s Parish in Palatine. After feasting on a delicious dinner, in keeping with Sr. Vincent’s Irish heritage, her family (the O’Neill’s), and all the Little Sisters were entertained by a visit from an unexpected guest, a leprechaun from ‘Those Funny Little People’. The celebration ended with a most enjoyable performance from the Irish band, Trillium.
Congratulations Sr. Vincent on your 70th Jubilee
