Nearly 300 of our friends gathered on Sunday, April 6, to celebrate and raise money for St. Joseph’s Home, at the 20th anniversary of the Amazing Grace Gala. Our guests were transported to “An Evening in Paris” at Stonegate Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates.
Tony Stallone, the evening’s master of ceremonies, welcomed everyone as a delicious dinner of filet mignon and fresh Norwegian Atlantic cod was enjoyed by all. We were honored to recognize and present the St. Jeanne Jugan Award to one of the original Amazing Grace Gala organizers, our dear friend and benefactor, Mr. Andy Webber. Our speaker, Fr. John Wauck, gave a wonderful talk about his experiences in Rome and how one person can make a difference.
Congratulations to our Amazing Grace Sweepstakes winners: 1st Prize, $5,000 – John Colandrea; 2nd Prize, 14K Gold, Diamond and Peridot Necklace – Rosemarie Spicola; and 3rd Prize, $500 – Ron Caminiti.
Our guests in attendance generously donated enough money to purchase a new double oven for our kitchen. We are very grateful to all those who supported our Gala. You truly did make a difference. Through your help, we raised over $186,000!
Be sure to “Save the Date” for next year’s Amazing Grace Gala – April 19, 2015. We will be very happy to welcome Mr. George Weigel as our guest speaker.
