Au Revoir Ma Mere Part II
It has been a month of change. We said goodbye to Mother Provincial Maria Christine as she makes her way to St. Augustine Home in Indianapolis. Now it was Mother Margaret Charles turn. Always ready for a celebration, she brought much joy and laughter to our Home. What better way to celebrate her – than with a party.
With each celebration, Mother Margaret created a delicious cocktail, customized especially for the occasion. In her honor, we hosted an international festival featuring cocktails from around the world – with one named especially for her!
Our own drum group, the Fantastiks, performed a rousing rendition of ‘Vehicle’, and our Sister Act performed ‘I will Follow Him’. As a token of our love, Mother was presented with flowers and cards from the Residents and staff. A couple of volunteers greeted Mother as she left, waving flags and wishing her well.
After a well-deserved retreat in Denver, Mother will travel to San Pedro to help facilitate the sale of Jeanne Jugan Residence. Please join us in praying for vocations for the Little Sisters so that our service to the needy elderly may continue.
We are so grateful to Mother Margaret Charles for all her leadership and support over the past 5 years. It has been a challenging time and she helped bring us through it with grace and loving care. We also say goodbye to the other Sisters that are moving to their new assignments; Sr. Diane (San Francisco), Sr. Rosanna (Pittsburgh), Sr. Beatrice (Baltimore) and Sr. Sharon (Louisville). We send them all off with our gratitude, prayers and best wishes.
