Advent Video Series, Week 4

  • December 21, 2018
God bless us everyone!

During this last week of Advent Sr. Constance reflects on the significance of Christmas as a force of peace and unity.

How often we sing, during Christmas, “Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to people of good will.” Following the Civil War several prominent American writers presented Christmas as a force for good in our Nation. Sarah Hale, a well-known writer in women’s magazines of the time, wrote, “Christmas holds the celestial magnet of brotherhood that should draw all who enjoy its blessing into that feeling of National Union.”

Do you think Christmas still has the power to unite Americans in a spirit of solidarity? Let us know what you think!

We Little Sisters wish you and all those you love a very Blessed Christmas and a deep sense of peace and unity as you celebrate all of the special days that comprise this joyous season!
