Christmas as the feast for the poor
In this week’s Advent video, Sr. Constance, lsp looks at Christmas giving to the poor in the mid to late 19th century.
As our Little Sisters in Baltimore celebrated their first American Christmas, they remarked that Christmas seemed like the feast of the poor.
Scrooge would obviously disagree, as he snarled that the poor belong in the workhouse.
What do you think? Do the poor deserve a spot in the workhouse or a look of love this Christmas?
