Sensing that the weather needed to compliment the Christmas Spirit, Mother Nature, not to be outdone, sent a snowstorm that came just hours ahead our annual Special Christmas Dinner on Thursday December 20th. But, it was toasty inside as Chefs, Andy Webber and Tony Stallone, spent the day cooking and treated us with a gourmet dinner of prime rib (donated by our friends at Peapod), Yorkshire pudding, butternut squash and brussels sprouts. Chef Charles and our friends at Stonegate Banquet Centre, added the finishing touches to the meal with a delicious rum spice cake.
Everyone was dressed in their Sunday finest clothing and individual pictures were taken of us in the lobby with the gorgeous Christmas tree. Tony’s daughter Katie and her friends, alumni Madrigal singers from Barrington High School, serenaded us with beautiful Christmas Carols. We entered, barely recognizing the dining room, as it was decorated in a beautiful Victorian themed Christmas.
Staff and volunteers served each table. Andy and Tony rolled a carving station around to each table offering hand carved seconds to anyone wanting more of the delicious prime rib.
With Christmas cheer filling our hearts and the delicious food filling our stomachs, we left with smiles on our faces, only to be met by Mother Provincial Maria Christine who gave us a parting gift as we left.
